What Is The Best Book For Beginning To Learn German?

by admin on July 12, 2010

I would really like to learn German. Rosetta stone is too expensive, and I need a book, because I don’t have any fluent German speakers accessible to me. Please recommend a good book for beginning German that isn’t massively expensive.

The textbook we used to use in High School was “Unsere Freunde”. The second-year textbook in that series was “Die Welt der Jugend”. Both were fun to read and used real-life situations, “hip” expressions and colloquialisms, although it is a bit outdated now.
